I recently took the Peter Pan line to travel to Amherst, Massachusetts from New York. I believe it was around 5 am when I first hopped on the bus. They had a single file line heading towards the bus, of course. There was the bus driver outside the bus door checking the passengers' tickets one-by-one . The bus has many seats and they are somewhat comfortable but after a couple hours of sitting in the same position, your ass will hurt. It's a bid tidy but you can move pretty freely while sitting. You can keep your bags (like duffel bags) in a compartment above the seats. There are no lights turned on while the bus is moving , there is also a bathroom in the back corner of the bus. I hope you enjoy your trip!
Their bus stops leave much to be desired, but their busses are terrible. My daughter & son-in-law live in NYC, so we all make the trip in & out of the city... often. The WiFi on the busses never works. The charging outlets never work. The other passengers are NOISY... talking very loud on their phones, playing video games with the volume on loud, or just outright rude, discourtious behavior. The bus drivers give a mandatory warning to passengers about noise at the beginning of each trip, but then not one of them enforces the rules. So, if you have a 4 hour trip, you cannot rest due to noise, you can't read due to the noise, you can't use your electronic devices due to no WiFi and no current to the plugs.... and the seats are very uncomfortable. This sounds like a "gripe" session, so I have to add that I am a "cup is full" kind of person, & don't like to complain. This is just meant as a warning. We have taken busses often enough to say these problems occur >90% of the time. I would rather pay another $10 per ticket if it meant having a quiet, comfortable, peaceful ride with WiFi and outlets that work.
The busses are comfortable. Prices are fare especially if you plan ahead. But remember traffic and mother nature are unpredictable.
Great company drivers are safe. Could be cleaner.
I have taken Peter Pan several times and it's been a great experience every time. The website is very easy to navigate, bus drivers are extremely friendly, and the buses are in great condition and comfortable. Free wifi and power outlets are a huge plus. Highly recommend
