I called this company to get an estimate on removing some lead paint in an older house. They said they would be happy to come give an estimate and assured me it was the type of work they were trained to do and available to do. The person who was to do the estimate was not there at the time we scheduled the appointment. When I called him 15 minutes later, he said he had had a conflict and didn't have my phone number so hadn't been able to call me to tell me that (though I had actually emailed him my phone number the week before when he requested it.) He did agree to come that same day so we started the appointment an hour later. He was apologetic when he came and was very professional during the appointment. He promised he would send an estimate within a day or two. It was not a large job so he thought it would be a fairly reasonable price. Five days later when no estimate was received and when they had not responded to my email checking in, I called the company and was told by the estimator that the company had decided not to do any more lead jobs at the present time. I spoke with the supervisor, James, about how his employee had promised to send an estimate and how I wouldn't have taken the afternoon off from work to come meet with him if I had known they weren't going to be willing to do the work. James said they would not provide an estimate nor would they do the work. He seemed to think there was no problem with telling a customer work could be done and promising an estimate, then backing out. It is too bad because this company seemed very professional over the phone initially and during the appointment also. I lost two weeks in looking for someone else to do the work because it seemed like things would work out with this company. I would not recommend them now.
