This is an spectacular emergency room. Non other made for life threatening conditions. Do not think you will walk in with the common cold and expect to be seen as quickly possible. Your wait time can be over 6 hours if you do.

Not once did I feel as if I was rushed out of a room. Rather I was always given the option to come back if my symptoms persist or worsen.
Unfortunately, there isn't a magic pill that makes us invincible. However, Baystate is the next best thing. The staff tries to support you every step of the way and takes beatings from those who think that's what they deserve.
My grandpa has been here the past two weeks due to heart attacks and heart failure. All I have to say is that this is the best hospital I have ever seen so far! We have met numerous healthcare professionals and only two of them did not greet us with the warmest smiles. Only two! For how many people I have encountered, that is wonderful. The staff are so attentive, kind, caring and accommodating to the patients needs. The heart and vascular department is as quiet and calm as it gets in a hospital. The food has been awesome, they take good care of each patients dietary needs. The doctors are thorough with planning any procedures and do not jump to action without assessing the situation properly, but monitor the patient consistently. I have visited every day these past 2 weeks and cannot express how impressed and grateful I am for my grandpa to be treated so well. Thank you Baystate! This hospital deserves a 5 star without a doubt.
In the other hand if you come in with shortness of breath, cardiac, or even mental problems you WILL be seen at an alarming rate with all of the care and love and compassion of the world.
